Announcing the Deans of Business and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christine Hughes as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, powerful July 1, 2023, and Dr. Vikas Mehrotra as Dean of the Alberta University of Small business, effective April 11, 2023.
Dr. Christine Hughes
Dr. Hughes is a professor of pharmacy & pharmaceutical sciences. A experienced leader and practiced administrator, Dr. Hughes has served the faculty as Interim Dean considering the fact that 2021. She has also held various other leadership roles in the school such as vice-dean, assistant dean of PharmD curriculum advancement, affiliate dean of undergraduate plans, and chair of the pharmacy observe division.
As a researcher, Dr. Hughes focuses on the therapy and prevention of HIV and other sexually-transmitted and blood-borne bacterial infections, as properly as the position of community pharmacists in sexual wellbeing, like screening, treatment and the administration of vaccines. Her scientific experience and leadership was identified with the MJ Huston Pharmacist of Difference and the Canadian Pharmacists Association Patient Treatment Accomplishment in Specialty Exercise. Dr. Vikas Mehrotra
Dr. Mehrotra is a professor of finance at the Alberta College of Business enterprise, and a longtime member of the College of Alberta group.
